About us

“But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.” And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called the name of that place, “The Lord will provide”; as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided.” - Genesis 22:11-14

Jehovah Yireh(Jireh) means, the Lord will provide.

Ministry Director

Pastor Tony Kim was born in 1981 in Daegu, South Korea, and came to the United States at the age of 16. Although he was born into an unbelieving family, he heard the Gospel and accepted Jesus on the first Sunday in America. From conversion until graduating from college, he grew up in Sa-Rang Community Church.

While he was studying Computer Science at Cal. State Univ. of Long Beach, he received missionary calling through several short-term mission trips around the world and Urbana Mission Conferences in 2003. After that, he earned a Master of Divinity at Talbot Seminary in 2012 and completed a Doctor of Ministry coursework in 2018.

There was a time when he wanted to give up his life after falling into depression due to game addiction, family difficulties, and credit fraud. His ministry flows out of a conviction of the change he experienced through the conflicts and hardship he suffered.

Since 2008, he has served as English Ministry Pastor at Yireh Church. He is an ordained minister and a moderator of the English Presbytery which belongs to the World Korean Presbyterian Church (WKPC). He and his wife, Deborah Daae Na, live in Chino and have one son, Matthias Yireh Kim.
